Patagonia Corporate Offices

Patagonia Corporate Offices, located at 323 N Clark right here in Chicago. They sit on the 35th floor, and although they may be high up, ceilings sit pretty low. The Patagonia range sits high down in South America. It is constructed with rock straight from the earth, using nature to give the peak its shape. In combining low sunlight and beautiful rock formations, I wanted the feeling of you entering  bright cave when you entered the space.

Inspired by beautiful rock formations, the topography of the mountains was mirror to create acoustic panels that were beneficial to a loud working environment, such as the library area. 

​

Patagonia's only in house work is testing the products. So, in using the hectic city of Chicago below, Patagonia wanted a testing library area for test groups to gather. 

​

In the effort to create more even lighting through the office, a custom LED strip, also follow  the topographical map, that follows the 3 sections of the office. Those 3 sections distinguish 3 areas in the office. Orange, which was above the work area, is an encouraging and invigorating color inspiring work. Blue, above the kitchen area, is a relaxing color that provides a calm space to take a break. And purple, above the library, is a proud and noble color that gives those in the test groups courage to do their best.

In the goal to create a community for Patagonia employees in Chicago, these offices are the perfect place to feel at one with nature and to spark creativity.
